Dan Engbers


Dan is a big picture thinker and a true problem solver. He founded Syscal in 2004 with the vision of bringing big business acumen to the small business IT space, and since that time has lead the company to the forefront of the industry while gradually moving from Director IT Management to the more formal role of CEO. Dan’s dedication to best practices, innate business sense and 10-year tenure as an IS Technical Specialist for a Fortune 500 company makes him a natural and highly effective leader. His talent and vision are the genesis of Syscal’s processes, as well as those of its spinoff company, Proactive Backups Inc., which Dan co-founded in 2011. When he’s not at the office, Dan can usually be found tinkering in his garage, fishing somewhere in K-country, or at one of his daughters’ basketball games.

Chris Bilodeau


Chris is a people person with a knack for getting things done. He joined Syscal in 2008, bringing with him years of account management and marketing experience – skills that have helped Syscal become one of the leading IT service providers in Alberta. Chris is responsible for daily operations within the organization, as well as Syscal’s corporate culture and our clients’ overall experience with Inc. In short, Chris makes us who we are – leading by example and driven by the desire to consistently exceed customer expectations. Chris is the co-founder of Proactive Backups Inc. He’s a marketing aficionado, an after-hours guitar player, and a dedicated outdoorsman who will go camping, fly fishing or golfing with you pretty much anytime.

Terry Ingram

Account Manager

Terry brings a wealth of talents and strengths to the Syscal team – not the least of which is a resolute work ethic that ushered him from his early days as a co-op IT student employee to the role of top System Administrator for that company within a few years’ time. His attention to detail is legendary – an attribute that ensures Terry delivers the utmost in customer service to all our clients, no matter what their size. Most of Terry’s IT work has been in system administration, but he spent nearly five years of his career as an IT contractor with a roster of over 40 independent clients. Skiing, skating and camping are among Terry’s favorite pastimes, but he finds the most enjoyment watching his three kids participate in their sports activities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, diplomas in both Management in Information Systems, Computer Programming and Architectural Technology, and is MCSE and SonicWALL Master MSSA certified.

Scott Warner

Systems Engineer, Projects

Scott’s career in IT began twenty-one years ago, so needless to say, his knowledge and expertise within the industry is exceptional. For more than half of his career, Scott was a dedicated contract employee for a major oil and gas company, but a desire to work with a variety of clients and be part of a growing team of IT professionals brought him our way – and we couldn’t be happier about it. Scott takes great pride in his work and embraces new challenges with vigor. His dedication to excellence is evident in every task he undertakes and achieving absolute client satisfaction is always Scott’s number one priority. Scott is A+, Net+, MCDST and MCSE certified. When he’s not working, you either find Scott tinkering at home with new tech, gaming, reading, or out in the mountains with his family.

Michael Farineau

Systems Administrator

Michael’s passion for technology began at an early age, spending his free time learning how to repair broken machines and building systems for family and friends. He is a graduate of the SAIT Infrastructure Technology program and has nearly a decade of experience in various IT roles. Immediately evident is his engaging personality and penchant for learning – he thrives in difficult situations and welcomes the opportunity to develop new understandings.

When he’s not managing IT services with Syscal, you’ll find him exploring the back country with his Malamute or enjoying the company of his friends and family.

Deanna Cook

Service Dispatcher

Deanna has spent the last 20 years growing her roots in realm of service. Hailing from a background working with non-profits and healthcare, she has demonstrated her natural abilities in empathy and insight. While her work experience has forged her capacity for support, it’s Deanna’s precocious nature and congeniality that have made her a blessing at Syscal. These qualities are paramount as the point of first contact within our organization. She is thorough and inquisitive, helping to expedite the workflow process and providing the technical team with the tools they need for quick ticket resolution.

When she’s not engaged with Syscal, you can find Deanna rubbing shoulders at Calgary Roller Derby, interacting with her husband and three wonderful children, and finding downtime in Alberta’s wide open spaces.

Romona Engbers

Office Manager

As Syscal’s founding co-pilot, Romona has been involved with the company and its affiliates since 2004. She brings more than 10 years of corporate enterprise experience from her time as an Operations Analyst with a Fortune 500 oil and gas company, where Romona was considered the go-to person on her team. Now heading Syscal’s daily operations, she is vital to ensuring that the company maintains peak efficiency and is able to conduct the level of business that clients and partners expect. Romona enjoys kick-boxing, working out, and loves spending time with family and friends.
